The odd thing is that in the service manual they specifically tell you to not use anything other than “led-plate” grease and they also specifically tell you to not use lubriplate and the like.

Hi James,

They don't seem to wear down, but do become gummed up and stick as the original grease hardens. It would be a good idea to take them apart, clean and lubricate them with a grease while you have them out. It will assure they park (wipers rest down near the cowl at the bottom of the windshield) properly. They're the reason we often see wipers resting at an angle on the windshield away from the cowl.

Has anyone taken apart the linkage arms on the wipers (variable speed) and can tell me if the nylon parking cams in the arms are an item that does wear down? If they are, I will pull them out while I have the dash open and see if mine are ok or not.
