RE: {Chrysler 300} Rear Springs

Plot thickens…

Turns out that on New Yorker there were TWO seven leaf springs used. One had a rate of 90 and one had a rate of 125.

So, who knows which one is in my car. I will have to try and see if the stamped part number is visible or buried under the perch plate.

James,

7 leaves on both springs.

This K 4 spd has the same.

Previous President George Rhiel

Mentioned that these are heavy duty, along with a front sway bar

Both on this 4 spd K, along with the Police exhaust system.

Chrysler mixed options on the assembly.

Hi Al

I took of a rear drum for the first time on this car. Does not look bad.

While I had it off and was laying on my back, I counted the leaf’s on the springs. What caught my attention was that the rear has SEVEN leaf’s and not six.

My recollection and the Eaton Website show those to be the heavy-duty springs.

I do not see that reflected in the build sheet. I have every reason to think that these springs have never been replaced, however one can never be sure. They have all the factory style clamps on the spring and the leaf’s have all the groove stamping along them.

This car DID not have a sway bar on it. I have one to put on.

Has anyone ever seen this in a 1964 300K?

James
