You learn something new every day. mea culpa Al and Bob you are correct. I placed the switch in my press and carefully put pressure on it and the outer sheath moved down. I measured the good switch and pressed it down to the correct length. It took a fair amount of pressure to get it to move. Once it did “break
away” and start sliding it took a lot less and I could move it back and forth after the initial push without too much pressure. Nerve racking on that first push in the press. I called QQD and told them. They did not know that either. Thanks, James From: Bob Jasinski <rpjasin@xxxxxxxxxxx> James, The switches are self-adjusting. I drove myself crazy trying to find the right shoulder length for my ’65 Barracuda (same switch type) then came to find out they compress to the proper length as you close
the door. Bob From: 'James Douglas' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
It does? When I went to close the door, it would not close. If you study the photo, you can see that the housing is longer. In the Master Parts Book it shows: 1972329 as elbow sleeve 1971931 as straight sleeve. It shows BOTH across all MOPAR cars that year. Page 8-39 at the bottom of the page. I have found some on eBay. I confirmed that the 1971931 straight sleeve has the longer housing and was probably meant for the “A” pr “B” body cars or Imperial and not the 1963 or 1964 Chrysler’s. I did find a couple of the short ones on eBay and I have asked the seller to confirm the photos. If so, I will order them. As an aside, both QQD and many sellers on eBay list 197329 but show the long housing type incorrectly. James. From: Al Macdonald <hemial@xxxxxxxxxxx>
When you shut the door, it self adjusts to the correct length Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device -------- Original message -------- From: 'James Douglas' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Subject: {Chrysler 300} Door Switches 1964 Anyone have a vendor and part number for door hinge side switches? QQD lists one, but it is not correct. It is way to long and the door will not shut. I will hit eBay and see what I can find. See photo.
