You are saying that the shaft, not the inner switch part that moves but the outer housing that the inner rides in moves once to the “correct” depth? In the Master Parts Book it shows: 1972329 as elbow sleeve 1971931 as straight sleeve. It shows BOTH across all MOPAR cars that year. Page 8-39 at the bottom of the page. I have found some on eBay. I confirmed that the 1971931 straight sleeve has the longer housing and was probably meant for the “A” pr “B” body cars or Imperial and not the 1963 or 1964 Chrysler’s. I did find a couple of the short ones on eBay and I have asked the seller to confirm the photos. If so, I will order them.
