I have some knowledge of the history of these plates. Bottom line is they look pretty but may lack the strength to sustain installation and use without distortion. The dies must be designed to form a product from the proper alloy and thickness of a material that will look and perform well. Initial work did not result in satisfactory results. Hopefully, enough improvements have been in material and process to create a rugged and beautiful product. Caveat emptor. Baby them in any case, especially when compressing carpet or windlace. Someone said they're nice but not as thick as the originals so you have to be extra careful not to over tighten the screws.
