Larry: Danny is 100% correct (as usual-!!!). I had to start my 57 TBird last week in order to free my L (which ironically was headed out for a new fuel tank) and yes - fuel running out (Vs sputtering) from vent. (Ugh/Yikes). So a couple of well aimed semi aggressive taps against the chamber and presto. However, now I don’t trust it. So I carefully pushed it into the hole where the L was and pulled the carb and took it to my bench - while unfairly mumbling things about Ford Motor Company under my breath! I take a look it the innards and rebuilt it. Even though I religiously use non-ethanol I’m expecting the worst. This is typical for me even tho I take every precaution (non ethanol/frequent use/stabilizer/fresh fuel etc.,etc..).
