Mask off the major part of the wheel cover. Paint the colored areas with a few light coats until you get the coverage you need. Then use acetone (I use nail polish remover) on a cloth and carefully remove the paint from the ribs in the
painted sections and any overspray. I used this method on my 300F wheel covers when I was repainting the red. It looks like it would be simple to mask them off but the tapered cone shape is tough, so a little paint got up the sides. Got nice clean line by using the acetone
