I had the left side exhaust manifold on my 300F repaired by Paul Russell's shop in Essex, MA in the late 1990's. Note: He's the guy who does all Ralph Lauren's cars. Now, before you fall over scared by pricing, I have to tell you he was very reasonable (I don't recall what the price was, unfortunately, but it was very palatable.)
As you can imagine, his guys deal with big issues with super-high dollar cars all the time. He gave me a tour of his facilty and Lauren's Concours winning Bugatti 57C was in his small lobby, as he stores some of Ralph's cars as well. Needless to say, I was pretty much awestruck.
Anyway, worth considering and a call to them.
Good Luck,
Keith
When I lived in LA, there was a place in Chatsworth which specialized in repairing cast iron parts (heads, manifolds) by oven brazing them.
In other words, they raise the temperature of the entire part high enough to allow the brazing material to fuse and then broughtthe temp down slowly to avoid warpage, This sounds right to me intuitively.

A resource for repairing broken exhaust manifolds is :
http://www.locknstitch.com in Turlock CA.
I’ve heard good things about their ability to repair manifolds.

Cost of this is interesting to me..Have a couple of broken ones. Furnace brazing is an excellent way to fix it, it will be as strong as original. Welding no good, it leaves residual local stress in the metal. OK on steel, bad on cast iron.
By the way, heads up!!!! One easy way to break them is hang exhaust system head pipe off manifold flange while installing head pipes. BANG, you have two pieces. Tie up head pipe with substantial tie while bolting on, leave tie there until hangers in place and tight.

Well I received a call from the welding shop I took my broken manifold to today. They were able to weld it together but upon striking it with a hammer to make sure it held, it cracked again. Then the welder suggested I use JB weld to fix it. I don't know if it cracked along the weld or elsewhere as I haven't seen it yet but I plan on picking it up tomorrow and taking my business elsewhere.
Does anyone in the Midwest or Southeast Wisconsin area have any recommendations of a welding place that can handle a cast iron manifold?
Thank you in advance.
