Thank you, Henry: Good catch and so gently and graciously communicated. The advertised shell has a correct VIN of 3N552543 and does not appear in the last INT registry. The 3NE55 prefix does, indeed, show only on original 1955 Chrysler 300 engine blocks. I knew that and blew that. Other observations are confirmed. No wonder it sort of looks like a C-300. IT IS ONE! Rich Barber Brentwood CA From: Henry Schleimer <henry.schleimer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Hi Rich I think you are mixing the VIN with the engine number. You might want to correct that. From: chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of c300@xxxxxxx This car was seen on Craig’s list last Dec. The VIN tag shows the 1955 white coupe to be a New Yorker. C-300 VIN’s start with 3NE55, Pictures show some progress was made to have many of the components to be like a C-300—seats, speedometer, glass, bumpers, steering wheel & horn ring. Some useful material there to use in restoration of a real C300. Rich B. in CA From: chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> On Behalf Of Jim Jungwirth Looks like 3N552543.
