Hi Matt, Just a data point- our 62 sport is the opposite- she shifts too early (both the 1-2 and the 2-3). Have tried adjusting the linkages slightly at both the carb and down by the trans, and can get a later shift, but then the shift is harder and not smooth. So, point being, it doesn’t take much adjustment of those linkage adjusters to make a difference. Also I understand that there is a throttle valve adjustment screw but I don’t know the adjustment procedure.
