Re: {Chrysler 300} Fan Clutch

I ordered a Hayden Fan Clutch from Amazon on June 6 and it arrived today. The total cost was 19.49.

I put it on the G today.

Before installing it, I started the G and took a couple CFM readings. Each time I held the device next to the thermostat housing.

After it cooled down, I installed the new Fan Clutch and took the same readings.

The results are as follows with the Original Fan Clutch then with the Hayden 1705. Original/HAYDEN

Start-up, 1500 RPM, 4300 CFM / 6600 CFM

135 degrees, 1400 RPM, 4400 CFM /6300 Cfm

150 degrees, 1400 RPM, 4100 CFM / 5900 CFM

160 degrees, 700 RPM, 2200 CFM / 2800 CFM

170 degrees, 700 RPM, 2200 CFM,/2800 CFM

Revved Up, N/A RPM, 5500 / 8000 RPM

To get the last reading I revved the engine from under the hood so I could not see the RPM.

It was raining so I did not take it for a drive. I am anxious to see how it is with the new fan clutch.

When I got one from NAPA their computer showed a 1707 and that's what I bought. I never installed it because I could see right away that it was too tall.

The original fan clutch is 2-3/4" tall and the 1707 is 3-1/2" tall and that would have placed the fan too close to the radiator.

The 1705 is supposed to be 3.09" tall and I believe it should work.

My fan clutch has very little or no resistance when cold or warm...basically all the time.

I would like to find the correct LOOKING fan clutch if possible.
