Hello 300’ly to all!--Within a few months after Bob Cornett’s passing his son called me regarding the selling price of the Bob Rodger car. We both were confused regarding it being worth more or less than what pristine C coupes were going for at that time. Son thought it was maybe difficult to sell because not many folks would appreciate the unique value of the car and the custom changes made with the exterior, two- tone paint job, fender skirts and the interior color and materials. My advice was to market for it’s uniqueness which is always a priority for collectors in the know. What transpired after that conversation I do not know. Esner's designs, good or bad, all had flowing sculptured looks as compared to Elwood Engel's squared off and chiseled lines. Much more conventional of course. I always thought Engel's name should have been spelled "Angle" because everything he designed was angular and squared off.
Oddly enough, they kept the open rear wheel wells on the 1964-66 Imperials which were much more Engel than Exner except for the windshield area.
