related to this , i have an upholstery guy who refuses to use “ junk cardboard “ that falls apart damp , as he calls what was behind our door panels etc .

He replicates it in ABS sheet , bulletproof against moisture . For instance panel behind F rear seats . 

Stuff is great , easy to work with and stable over time . But no “original “ problems like wrinkled door panels and torn out fastening clips .. smile

How thick is the old material? You might try a auto upholstery supply house that sells blank door cards and compare. More likely to withstand heat/cold and moisture.

Michael Van Der Veen also needs these for his F. I looked at my car and it looks like the same material the glove boxes are made out of. This is on non-air cars. We didn't find that anyone made them but maybe the material can be acquired from Quiery.
