RE: {Chrysler 300} Rear Brake Howl

Hi Kevin,
About 30 years ago, my neighbor lady had a 1968 Chrysler Newport that the local Chrysler dealer replaced the brake shoes. It made a terrible noise when you pressed on the brakes.  I drove it back to the dealer and when I drove up and stopped, the service person said you need your brakes serviced. I hold them you just replaced the brake shoes. Turned out the shoes were the wrong ones, there was a slight change in the shoes between years.

I wanted to know if anyone might have a suggestion regarding remedying howl at low speeds from the rear under light braking?  Everything is new, the drum springs have not been replaced so I’m sure they aren’t applying much dampening.  I have had rear spring work done and don’t see any insulators so maybe that is the problem.

Also, any suggestions for a good custom fitted car cover?
