Tell the back seat driver if they don’t shut up they can walk home
If the car is indoors, I recommend an inexpensive plastic ‘baggie’ that keeps the dust off and doesn’t rub any edges.  Easy to put on and off and when they get dust laiden, throw them away and use a new one.  I don’t like the custom cloth or plastic-fabric covers and have several, as they mini-scratchi  the paint when they get rubbed against and if left outside in the wind they can really damage the surfaces. They’re $15 on eBay.
