I certainly understand the sourcing situation. I don’t even mind the wrong materials if that’s all you can get but they should state that up front if they know it.. I didn’t get that far with Quirey on mine. Just because they are the only choice, doesn’t mean we should just suck it up. SMS was going to do the carpet set for my wagon but they sent me a loop carpet sample. When I pointed out it was supposed to be cut pile, I had them send me a sample of that. Glad thing I did, I would have spent a lot of money on a carpet kit I could have gotten for a third of the price from other vendors. Some of us do not have deep pockets and I’ve been told in the past if I can’t afford to spend the money fixing my car I should sell it to someone that can. Fortunately I’m very happy driving my very original, if not mint condition, 300F around. I actually had no problem buying everything I could from Gary and he was very helpful. I sold my ’70 Road Runner just to get stuff for the F. I am sure they try as hard as anyone in club ; however , for a moment , assume you personally have that task to do ? And critics doing nothing but writing checks / detractors abound — about you only getting to 85%, after killing your self trying . You might bolt . I only bring this up as without Quirey we are collectively toast . Who is in competition with them , over our 5 - 10 orders a year ? Thank you to those who help us —goes a long way , back to Gary. Without him , no 300 interiors , with “ correct embossing” . Corvettes and T birds have large companies built to supply them 1000 orders a year . 300, no way . Be generous ,they do the best they can . And it matters .,, I can’t remember date when first I found Gary, maybe 50 years ago , thank you to him and his successors . Exact right carpet or not .. thank you ..., Sent from my iPhone not by choice I was wondering what they were going to do about the carpet. Did they put the same fuzzy carpet on the front seat bottom and back? I’m trying to find the correct thick cut pile carpet for my 1960 wagon. It uses the same as the 300F. I have some extra that came with my F. The owners at the time had bought the carpet kit from the club and it came with a roll of extra, probably for the back panel, which they didn’t use. Here is a picture showing the sample I got from Stock Interiors which is also the same I got from SMS. SMS never claimed it was correct but didn’t say it wasn’t. I’m glad I had them send me a sample before ordering as their carpet set was $600. The originally sent me a loop carpet sample. https://photos.app.goo.gl/MC2whDcrGQGMzYq6A I'm surprised to hear this, as up until this point, I'd heard their interior components were very good. It's especially concerning to me, as I just placed my own order with them for seat/arm rest covers, foam, interior panels, headliner, etc. The rear parcel shelf I had ordered from them, because they said it was the correct basektweave pattern, arrived as a plain, smooth, black cardboard...so that was disappointing. I know when I spoke to Todd on Monday, he said they've been very busy during this lockdown, as everyone has been tackling their car projects while stuck at home. He also mentioned their seamstress will be having heart surgery "this month," and that orders would be delayed pending her return from surgery. I purchased an interior “kit” from Quirey for nearly $7k. Experience thus far has been marginal.. The seat covers themselves are fine- correct leather patterns.. The kit included the headliner, floor carpet, back panel carpet, door panel material, and seat covers w/ precut foam, and only one armrest cover (they forgot the other one). However, here a few issues that have arisen: - the foam cushioning offered in the kit is flawed - a substantial amount material needed to be added in some places, and removed in other areas. Quirey acknowledged the flaws, promised they’d send me correct patterns, but have yet to do so after 2 or 3 “promises” to address this issue. - cardboard seat backing that goes on the back of each front seat was not provided. When I asked for a pair they wanted another $40, then back-peddled and said they’d send them for free after I reminded them I spend &7k. Still nothing from them.. — the tan cloth piping for the door/body seals was not included — sunvisor material not included. — the black door panel carpet material is like a cheap, super short Afro-like fuzzy Velcro material, when the original as you know should be a thicker weaved black strand carpet material. I can provide pictures or call me with questions.. Waiting for Quirey to rectify said issues but getting the Covid cold shoulder.
