Getting in a little late on this conversation but have to agree, the inexpensive platform type skates like the Goplus mentioned here by Bob are ONLY worthwhile if you have a lightweight vehicle. They were usable for me when my '65 300 was just a rolling shell
but as I added drivetrain and interior it became much harder to move around. By the time the car was fully assembled (about 4100 lbs) it took two or three people to heave it around. I now only use them for moving furniture or setting transmissions, rear ends
etc. so they can be moved more easily.

I got my old set of Roll Masters
(I don't think you can buy these anymore)
and it rolled just fine.
