When I became a member years ago, there was usually an ad in Hemmings for a company which would make you a new plate like the one on my 300H door jamb. My iunerstanding was you could change the color code etc, Uncle Sam made them stop selling them I heard. About the 300G convert: There was a man who bought a 300G convertible which had a huge amount of rust and bent panels. He wrote a series of articles about saving the car which ended up looking terrific. I think he called it something like "Raggedy Ann”. The VIN is screwed on, dead wrong, should be spot welded. The trim code plate (aka fender tag) is rotted and I suspect it and the VIN may be from a different car, Caveat Emptor. It’s a felony to mess with VIN tags by the way.
