[Chrysler300] Bigger 14" Tire News from Diamond Back

I received a call from Bill Chapman at Diamond Back this morning, and he asked me to pass his message on to you 300 Club folks on the Forum.

Bill says that he will have 300 tires arriving 40 to 60 days from now that are closer to what we have been asking for the last several years. These are 14" radial tires that Diamond Back is having specially molded in a taller iteration - 27.5".

Some specs:

Size H78-14

Height 27.5"

Profile width 8.3"

Tread width 5.5"

Whitewall 2.5" or 1.0"

Rating 100T (118 mph)

Load 1764#

Now, while these 27.5s will be a sizable improvement over the 26.5" radials some folks like me have been running, it's still not the really big one we want at 28.5". In also speaking to James at DB later today, he said it will probably still be about a year before they will have the 28.5" available. They do say they are working on it, and positively plan to eventually have them in the offering lineup.

Well, for the time being that will allow me yet another guilt-free year of occasionally peeling a little off my current treads.

Don't hold me responsible for the forecast, but this is the current info as I have it.
