And my "G" was born on March 15, 1961 and I have
the 300 on the trunk lid and the copper pipes under the rams. I'm
wondering if this change was for both at the same time mid-year?
The G convertible test car in the August 1961 issue of Car Life, and the
engine photo from the 300-G press kit do not have the copper tubes, so I think
we can be sure that some Gs did not have the tubes.
My 300 G bought from the estate of the original owner did not have the
copper pipes. There are plenty of them that did not have them. Like Andy
said, no particular pattern, like the “300” trunk numbers.
I have noticed several 300 G's that have the above laying across the top of
the Ram Manifolds. I'm sure this is incorrect as they should be ran as
copper tubing under the manifolds. Mine are copper under the
manifolds. Thoughts ?
