Re: [Chrysler300] Re: Another Tire Question

The 62 300H should have narrow whitewalls - called "beautyline" whitewall in 1962 - it gave us fits because tire shorthand was 7.60-15BL to distinguish from the earlier 7.60-15W. But BL was previously used by some to designate Blackwall.

As to Toyo making the tires in P235/75R15 in Wide White - I have been unable to locate such - are they possibly Diamondback whitewalls applied to Toyo Extensa AS tires?

I still think thats a good choice if you have 15 inch wheels. The Hankook H724 is also a good tire if the Coopers are no longer available.

But if you are fighting the big 14 inch battle there are no "production" tires - just $pecialty tires.

Just an FYI...I did go with the P235/75R15 Coopers for my H.  I’m still waiting......There were a backorder, but they are coming.

Can't comment on the specific tire, but most of these low production tires are made by specialty manufacturers in relatively small lots. If you can get the first 2 letters of the DOT code, you can tell who makes them and where. http://www.harriger.com/tires.htm

Have you considered the P235/75R14 which may be a better match for overall diameter and ride height as well as availability. The old 8.50-14 were about 28.4 inches OD but the P225/75R14 are only about 27.6 inch OD and radials sit a bit lower anyway. The P235/75R14 are 27.9 / 28.0 inch OD.

I have been watching all the discussion on tires. It looks like the only option for 225/75/14 tires are the Coker tires. I would appreciate feedback on these radial tires.
Thanks Harold.
