My friends '60 Dodge D500 Matador had engine block also marked HP. Was a 383 with RAM INDUCTION system. It had been used originally as our local sheriff's unmarked police car. I drove it quite a bit in 1963, rode in it a lot more. Fun ride!!!
I suspect that all 300F engines also had the HP designation, but that's only a guess.

My "H" has an HP stamped on it as well as the R41> In 1960 the engine did not have a special # for the 300. The pad next to the distributor will have P 41 plus a build date. The P is for 1960, and the 41 is for 413. All the 60 413’s were stamped this way. The engine should have been built before the car was, within a few months I think.
