I have been using KYBs for letter car shocks.

KG4507 is the KYB part number for front shocks.
They have to be modified, the lower bushing shortened
to 1.25" but that is easy to do.

The installation trick: remove the rebound bumper on the
upper control arm. This gives another couple of inches of
swing to the control arms and opens up more space to install
the new shock.
