Re: [Chrysler300] 1960-64 Leakage Issue

If I knew where the water was getting in I'd opt for urethane rather than silicone.

Hello Matt - Phil Irish here,

I have a '69 coupe that I bought new, that had that same problem about 3 years into its life.  The dealer from whom the car was purchased was still servicing it and their head guy said "some of these develope a 'body leak' and silicone fixed it - to this day.  Exactly where they put it I am not certain, but it was clearly a known problem that only took an hour or less to get to.

Good Luck -  All the Best 300ing !

Subject: [Chrysler300] 1960-64 Leakage Issue

Working on my '62 New Yorker Wagon, though I would think the question applies to all'60-'64 models. (Newports, New Yorkers, 300's):

I have discovered if I pour water on the windshield... it enters at the base of the windshield... ending up inside the base of the inner kick panel wells. And then sits there promoting a fun thing called RUST!!

Does a Gary Goers replacement windshield gasket fix the lack of sealing in anyone's experience? Or are these years prone to leakage regardless and a slathering of clear silicone is required?

Thanks!!
