Our records show it is really a white car. Guess it's Auction Red like all the rest now.

To all.

the URL of the 1957 Red Coupe at Mecum is:

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?CFGRIDKEY=CH1013-166919

The site did not show the engine, but had several exterior pictures, and one of the interior.

The site shows it was not sold with high bid $45,000.

Hi George,

The auction took place five minutes from where I work, so I met some friends and spent an hour or two looking around on Friday afternoon. I unexpectedly happened upon the red 300C in the outdoor lot, and based on a sign hanging from the steering wheel, I concluded it had already sold by that time. I was only able to spend a couple of minutes checking out the car. I walked around the car several times, but was did not get the chance to check under the hood. I thought it was a very very nice car, unlike many at the auction that looked like quick paint resprays. There was a very interesting white '63 Newport Convertible there too. It had dish hubcaps, but was a real looker.

Was anyone at the Mecum Chicago auction that might know the condition on the 300C coupe that went through Friday evening at $45k?

Thanks
