Bob,
Several years ago I had an intermittent miss in a car (different make) I had just restored. I tried everything.
Finally, in desperation, a good friend with the same make and model car lent me his entire ignition system from the distributor (included) through the spark plugs, and including the coil cables and end caps on ignition harness. Then, my car ran like a top.
Piece by piece, I began swapping my parts back to identify the culprit.
The biggest problem turned out to be my brand new coil. I called the supplier, who asked to shake it and see if it "gurgled" which it did. He sent me a new one, problem solved. He said they had a bad batch of coils, and you could tell them by their "gurgle".
I have no idea if it's related to your problem, but there are some strange things about coils and liquid.

I am curious to know how this would be the cause of the problem. As far as
my understanding goes, the oil only acts as a coolant for the coil, and has
nothing to do with the coil circuit, it just keeps it from burning up.
Anybody have any insight on this?

Folks,
I flushed the e-mail and thus the name of the fellow wanting help diagnosing
the problem he was having of his Chrysler dying (or at least nearly dying)
on a hard right turn into a driveway, etc. Thus the shotgun approach.
I talked to an old Chrysler mechanic friend yesterday, and he had an
immediate answer. It may not be the case, but in the day when these cars
were nearly new, there was a similar problem of some rarity. The ignition
coil would have low oil levels, and that would "slop" to the left when
turning into a driveway, etc to the right.
I would suggest, based on that comment, a swap of a known good coil and see
if it makes a difference.
