So while we're on the subject... Here in CT, a car older than 1980 does not need a title for registration.Bill of sale is OK. In fact, they won't even issue a title on a car of that age or older. So the question is, if I'm at a car show with my vintage ride, what stops someone from copying the vin off my car, taking a picture of the car, then listing it for sale on ebay, etc. When someone wins the auction, they are sent a bill of sale (with the VIN listed) after they pay for the vehicle. Of course, when they or their agent/car hauler shows up to get the car, there is no car. So the buyer sees my car at a subsequent car show and claims it's his car, presenting the bill of sale. Then what ?
