A little shot of nitrous will take care of that .1 and then some .

Those of us with Factory Air 57 C's with fan clutch have at least .1 sec better 1/4 mile times than the folks with horsepower robbing non-clutch units. ;-)

To throw some more confusion into the subject, my 57-C with factory A/C has an 18 inch 6 blade fan with no clutch. The car sat since 1972, and does not look like the fan was ever messed with. I spoke to Wayne about this too, and he has a factory A/C car with the same fan. Who knows what Chrysler was thinking back then.

  Hello 300?ly to all!
I have the 5 blade fan on my factory A/C 300C. Only four bolts connect it to the thermostatic fan clutch. It definitely looks strange with the 3 & 2 configuration. Hope this helps! Rob Kern

Ray--for what it is worth, my non a/c 57 300 came with a 6 blade clutch fan.
I have two 57 Imperial a/c clutch fans that have 5 unequal blades. They look
strange w/ 3 blades to one side and 2 blades to the other. I believe the
reason for 5 blade on a/c is the fan is turned faster, larger crank pulley.
There must be some a/c 57 300's out there that can verify if they came w/ 5
  or 6 blade.

I have the shock bolt, problem it is 500 mi. from me. If you can wait, you
  can have it n/c.

  Thank you,

  Hello All --

In the midst of restoring my late father's 1957 Chrysler 300C, I find that
  I
need the items shown below; I've struck out at half a dozen of the major
Mopar salvage yards - they either don't have the parts or sound like they
don't really want to mess with finding/removing them!

FAN FOR A/C CAR: Six blades, 18" diameter, large 1.875" hole in
center, held to fan clutch by four 5/16" bolts on 3.25" centers. I
believe these fans were also supplied on the big-hemi Chryslers, Imperials
and DeSotos in 1957 & 1958 WITH FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING ONLY. (most
non-A/C cars did not have a fan clutch and therefore had no big hole in
  the
  center.)

RIGHT REAR LOWER SHOCK ABSORBER MOUNTING PLATE WITH STUD: This is the
  heavy
steel plate under the leaf spring(s) which is held in place by the two
U-bolts over the axle. Part No. 1820438 is stamped on the lower surface.
My shock mounting stud broke off upon removing the nut. I believe this
  same
part would also be found on 1957-1958 Chryslers, Imperials and DeSotos. If
you can safely remove just the stud (with nuts)from the plate (either left
or right side), that stud part is actually all I need.

  Thanks for any help.
