I’m pretty sure the odd fan blade configuration is to help break up sound, droning and resonances. Fan pitch, number of blades, various pulley sizes, shroud configuration, water pump volume and pressure and many other variables all go into the required cooling of our Brutes (or not). Unfortunately, the laws of thermodynamics dictate the rejection of 2/3+/- of the total energy available in the fuel. Much of the rejected energy is used to heat the air flowing through the radiator and as hot exhaust gases. New 300’s are designed to operate at higher coolant and cylinder temperatures, so as to reject less heat to the coolant. Electric booster fans now kick in to help (or replace) the engine-driven fan. And, the electric fans can really help cool a Banker’s Hot Rod stuck in traffic. Only four bolts connect it to the thermostatic fan clutch. It definitely looks strange with the 3 & 2 configuration. Hope this helps!
