Another often missed source of leakage is the heater hose connection. If one of them seeps, it can run down the heater core pipe and into the cabin and drip on the carpet. Check there first. If you have air, use a blower to blow around the connection at the firewall and see if any wetness spreads from there. Then with a strong light, look at the inside of the firewall where the pipes come thru and see what you see.
