Re: [Chrysler300] F & C300 carb questions

Dave, Rich and All:
There are no washers under the carb attachment nuts on the 300F. I have a
very clear factory photo of Bob Rodger pointing out the left carb on a
300F 4spd. The nuts do appear to have a phosphate (dark "oxide") finish.
That is the way I did them on my 300F.

There are none on the 2317S's on our '55 C300. Special, small OD, flat
washers would be a nice add. I think machine-grade flat washers have the
smaller ID than the standard stovebolt washers. Lockwashers could be
expected to gouge the carb mounting flats even worse. I understand your
not
wanting to damage those beautiful 2903's.

BTW, is there any knowledge of the 2318S carb that the AMA specs for the
C300 call for as the front carb?

OK, got the 2903's back from The Quad Shop (Jim McGowan) and they look like
fine pieces of jewelery!!

Got to thinking, are there supposed to be flat washers under the nuts that
bolt them to the manifolds??

Seems to me there should be to keep the nuts from gouging the carb flanges.
