Hi Niels--I was talking (half jokingly) about the channel above the rear bumper, which the trunk lid fits down into (i.e., where the rubber seal goes). I am a complete amateur/newbie at this, so I may not even know what I'm talking about, but I've been told by more knowledgeable people that is a very common rust spot. On my car, that's the only place we've found any rust, but we don't have it stripped of paint yet. I'm still hoping for no big surprise, in which case I'll be jumping for joy like you. Keep us posted, and I'll do the same as our project progresses. Shannon 300G PS I only got 83% on the test, but in all fairness I wasn't even born when most of those cars were made, so I didn't feel too bad. Guess I have a lot of boning up to do. So the pictures are just 3 days old. There are no other pictures at the moment. I will take some special pictures on Saturday for Ray round the trunk (do you mean the channel underneath the rear window?) Some explaination for the great condition: The car has been in France, (I do not know as a new car or imported from the US) and than it was showed some years in a shopping window of a Chrysler dealer in the Netherlands anf than it was sold to Belgium. There it was running some years during summer time. The car has just about 57,000 original miles on the clock. VIN Nr. is 8413110542. Perhaps somebody of you knows where the car was delivered to. I will send new pictures ca. every month to show how far the work is done. I bought a lot of parts during this spring and summer so we are pepaired to do the work in a "Short" time. I have new chromed bumpers, new stainless exhaust, complete interieur from Gary Goers (the original leather was dried out and off - German: kaputt-such a pitty), and all new sealings for the engine and transmission and new front end parts and bushings. So long guys and sorry for my special English! I hope you understand what I mean. Hi group, This is Niels from northern Germany. We are restoring my 300G HTC. After removing all the paint we were standing in front of an unbelievable complete rust free and healthy body. My workshop owner, an older man with experience of more than 30 years collectar Car restorations stated that the body of this car must be the very best unrestored Letter car all over the world. OK, perhaps one of the best I think. To see the car in a condition like this maked me very happy. Again: Unbelievable!!! As the seller from Belgium said last year: A car like a rock!! Yes pascal, thats true!! I will send you some pictures of the restored car in spring 2012.
