John et al, This was the car I called you about 3 years ago when I visited Don’s collection in Altus. The first C convertible with buckets is owned by Tom Girard and is in pristine condition. When I purchased our '57 300C coupe from Dorothy Olsen, widow of Bruce Olsen very close to Larry Jetts' home in Newark, California 16 years ago there was a truck load of parts in the deal. The badges were part of this and I also have photos of the car prior to restoration and I believe this car went to Texas. When time permits I'll do a bit of looking at serial numbers as I believe this could be the same car. To my knowledge the front seats are not correct and the only bucket seat convert of the era I know of was the first '57 convert which had factory installed buckets. I believe this car still exist today and was used in advertising when new. There was a shot of it on the beach with the top down and I remember you could see the buckets. The alternator is not correct, but probably an improvement. Also noted the chrome valve covers and air cleaner housings. A bit to much chrome for my taste. Don was from Altus, Oklahoma. I recognize the seats from the head rests. If it is the same car, the seats are a retrofit bucket set up and certainly not original. The other interesting fact about this car is that it may be one of the original FI Ds that was retrofitted with carburetion. It emerged from Texas before going to Kizzar. The bumper fit in the front looks the same. It appears to have had a cosmetic sprucing up since I saw it in Don’s collection 3 years ago this month. Gloria Moon would be able to confirm via VIN if this was the Kizzar car. My best opinion on where it came from. 300’ly, Rob Kern From: Larry Jabin Sent: Friday, October 21, 2011 4:34 PM To: mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com Subject: [Chrysler300] 300D for sale on Ebay Has anybody seen this car before & what's with the seats http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrysler-300-Series-STUNNING-1958-CHRYSLER-300D-2-DOOR-HARDTOP-FACTORY-AIR-CONDITIONING-LOW-MILES-/390358082135?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item5ae327a257 Larry Jabin mailto:Larry%40pwbsfo.com<mailto:mailto:L.jabin1007%40pwbsfo.com> [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or go to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Chrysler300/join and select the "Leave Group" button For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylangYahoo!
