Re: [Chrysler300] Tires for H or J ( or K) with one inch whitewall

I put the 2 1/4" wide white Diamondbacks on our F before heading to the Front Royal meet from Chicago in May '10. Diamondback's core tire back then was the Vredenstein Comtrac - 205Rx14 - actually a 6-ply Eurospec van tire. Jimmy at Diamondback highly recommended them, and they've been great. Drove through heavy downpours running in to Front Royal as well as heading back to Chicago, with great stability. T McTaggert commented on how great the F was tracking as he was tailing me cruising at speed  through the twisty windy VA roads. Have no idea why this size tire was discontinued by Vredenstein, but am very happy with them - ride quality as well as quiet road noise. Also, the tires were almost perfectly balanced, with only minimal balancing weights needed. And, the speedo is right on when measured against Garmin's satellite speed readout.

For those of you still looking to go with the Diamond Backs, here is the
latest word as of today. The 235/75R_15_s should be available yet this
year. And they are looking at approximately March 2012 for the
235/75R_14_ size. Of course these will be in any whitewall width you want.

After all the stories we went through a few months ago, the choice is
pretty clear. If you've got a trailer queen, Coker or American Classic
is the only way to go. They are very original looking and will score
well with the judges. But they're not a tire you want to drive -
they'll blow out on the highway. If you want to hit the American Road,
it will be worth every penny to spring for a grand on Diamond Backs as
they only use Level 100 tires.

I'll let you know when I hear further on the 235-14 progress.
