Re: [Chrysler300] 375 Troubled Horses

  Ken,

Your description of the problem leads me to think that you have a flooding condition. A rich running condition, tunable with mixture screw adjustments, is not what you have - - -maybe.

The float system in the carburetors would be the first thing evaluate. But, this would be ONLY right after the an exact definition of the problem is determined. Proper ID of the problem is so essential and then a diagnosis of the problem totally based on the problem ID. Very important. Tearing things apart and throwing parts at a problem is a very ineffective approach.

Does sound like a carburetor problem and if the carburetors have recently been in the hands of an experienced professional, they need to go back for review with you providing a specific list of problems. Best approach IMO is to contact the firm that built your carburetors before anything else is done to the car. There could be a liability issue, responsibility issue, that should be important to you to protect.

And, the engine oil is contaminated. The extra fuel you describe has washed the cylinder walls and is now in the engine oil diluting it. Needs new oil and a new filter also.

Fuel supply contamination can destroy a fresh built fuel system. Carburetor float valves do not like 'stuff' floating around.
