RE: [Chrysler300] Wire terminal block restoration perplexion

As per the 1955-58 parts book:

Group 8-21-0 Terminal Block

8-21-1 Block, Radiator Support Yoke, 5-post.

Part Number 1253425

Same for all models 1955-58 Plymouth through Imperial.

The part number indicates it is a carryover from even earlier years and Gary
is correct, that part number probably went on for additional years.

The book then shows two different mounting screws and references a block
that has part number 1253426. Always save the fasteners and try to get them
with any recycled parts. I would be tempted to over-restore this block with
shiny new SS nuts, but the snakeskin-insulated wiring there is so ratty it
would be like gilding the lily. A real eyesore.

I would not spend much time to repair a bad/broken terminal block. Chrys
used them on all makes and models at least 57 to 59 and likely more.
Many still out there. Many members likely have parts cars and they are just
sitting on the core support ready to use. Western cars are better, no salt
roads to eat the posts. Gary

Hello.
I managed to replace some of the posts, after I broke them trying to
loosen the wires. But this is almost 20 years ago, so I don't remember what
I actually did. Most likely. I drilled out the broken bolts and put in new
(stainless steel?) ones and then seal them with epoxy on the back side.
I don't have the car here, but I'm going to visit my 300C in the weekend
and can take the terminalblock of, and give you an update. I think I will
remember when I see it.

I have been pretty successful/lucky so far in figuring out some tricky,
laborious, or outrageously expensive way of either restoring or replacing
each little widget of my '57 C for its restoration. Everything is coming out
really nicely. But I have to hit you guys up on this little one.

The five-post terminal block on the radiator support is bakelite with
molded-in posts that were probably originally zinc plated. All the plating
has rusted off the posts, and I can't think of a coating I can renew them
with that will look right, be conductive, and protect them against rusting
again for the long haul.

Does anyone have an idea for this? Or is there an accurate replacement
available?

Thanks to all for the help.
