[Chrysler300] Oil / ZDDP Again

Hi 300 Group,

 

Sorry About the Oil and ZDDP  Issue again.

Old Computer crashed,  Lost all my saved Oil Information from Group.

Up and Running on a New computer now.

 

Spring Has come to the Northland and Time to get the cars out.

 

Oil for the 61 300 G.

Engine Rebuilt and have about  2000 miles on it the last 3 years.

 

First years Valvoline  10-30. ( older stock )

Last year Rotella T  15-40 with a pint of Lucas oil treatment.

 

Last week I stopped by Local Parts place to get some  ZDDP  additive.

To use with Rotella T 15- 40.

Counter Guy says this is not a good idea.

"The high detergent level in the truck oil will not let the ZDDP work."

 

I have never heard of this before!!!

 

I have about 5 large containers of Rotella T 15-40 on the shelf

and was planning on using this on the vintage auto fleet.

 

What do I do now??

 

Use the Rotella  or not?  

Use the Rotella and ZDDP  or  another additive?

 

What is the current ideas for oil in the vintage autos?
