Re: [Chrysler300] Engine Paint

I bought that Mopar engine turquoise about a year ago. While changing my valve cover gaskets, I sprayed the new paint on my valve covers on my 64 300. I was really disappointed when it didn't match the rest of the engine, so I just put the new gaskets on and slammed the hood. The next day I drove the car about 100 miles. When I got home, I opened the hood and to my surprise, the valve covers matched the rest of the engine. possibly the heat from the engine cured the paint and changed it to the (seemingly) correct color.
The reason I needed to repaint them was when I cleaned my engine, the paint turned chalky and faded. I attributed it to the use on engine degreaser.

The experience I had with ordering the Mopar turquoise paint was that althought
t carried the same part no:, the color was totally different from what the old
olors I had previously brought and what I was getting now. Someone in the many
mails earlier had mentioned a green color that closely matched the original
urquoise color.

 Subject: [Chrysler300] Engine Paint

 Hi Group,
I had the engine on my second H steam cleaned on Wednesday and the new MOPAR
urquoise paint on my intake manifold turned yellow.
I have also noted that both thermostat housings (painted with the same paint)
ave yellowed.
I guess that this paint isn't good for temperatures much over 180 degrees.
There is an ad in the WPC News for engine enamels and the seller says that it
s good up to 600 degrees and I have ordered 2 spray cans.
Any suggestions and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.
