Re: [Chrysler300] steering wheel removal

Jerry and All:
The nut turns off in the usual counterclockwise direction. I have always
been able to hold the steering wheel with one hand and pull the wrench with
the other. However, that procedure might not work with some real "sticky"
situations where the wheel has never been off. (Torque spec is/was 40
ft-lbs)
You will also need a puller. If you notice, there are 2 threaded holes in
the steering wheel for that purpose.
It so happens, I have one, and we will just happen to be in St. Pete this
coming weekend, so, if you want I can bring it with me!

I'm getting ready to take my steering wheel off my 1962 300 H and sport
convertible. I have the (3) screws out. I believe the nut is a (1") nut.

question 1: Which way does the nut turn off?
question 2: How do you hold the steering wheel from turning?

I don't want to mess up the one steering more than it is now.
