Hi, Regarding Rayon Tires on our 300C. When We purchased our 300C in July 1958,it had 9:50-14 rayon tires. In the trunk were the four original Blue Streak 9:00-14 tires which we put back on our 300C once we arrived home in Seattle. We Purchased our 300C from a friend in Livingston, Montana, 750 miles east of Seattle. My sister-in-law was driving the 300C somewhere in Western Montana at a very high rate of speed while I slept in the front passenger seat. I awoke suddenly and felt the tires going out of round and looked at the speedometer which showed we were at 93 MPH while rounding a curve. I told her to slow down as the tires were not rated for that speed and we could get killed. When we left Livingston earlier that day, the mother of the seller warned us that the 300C was so fast that we could easily get killed on the way home. Evidently this warning did not phase my sister-in-law as she was use to driving a 1950 Mercury and did not realize how easily the 300C handled at high speeds. We had a lot of fun with the 300C in those early years on trips to Colorado, Yellowstone Park etc. It could easily pass any car on the highway, especially going uphill. I would hesitate to drive them more than 30 mph or so. Besides they are irreplaceable if you blow one out even due to road hazard. ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/Yahoo!
