[Chrysler300] Rechroming G grille center

While we're on the topic of G grille restoration, how
have your results been getting G grille centers
rechromed? I recently had one done, and wasn't that
happy with it. Specifically, the nickel shows though
in between the outer and the center. George Riehl
actually warned me about this years ago, so when I
brought it in to my (ex)chrome guy, I asked him if he
could get chrome in there, as well as fill the pits in
that area. He replied "that's what I do."

When it came back, the outer surfaces looked fine, but
there was still pitting and discoloration in that in
between area. He wasn't there and his employee said
you can't get the chrome into a place like that(!) On
the upside, his price was low on that piece compared
to some other pieces I had him do. Maybe he wasn't
happy with it himself? It'll probably won't be that
noticeable when it's installed in the car, but anybody
have thoughts/experiences with this?
