Mark,

I seem to recall that the original lifters used in the early 383/413 engines
are no longer available. If you installed mid/late 1960s 383 lifters, they
are a different length.  If you get a set of the corresponding later
pushrods, they should compensate for the new lifters and work ok.

Maybe someone else can confirm?

  Hi Mark,

You can buy push rods in any length you want from Crane and other
manufacturers. They even have a tool for measuring the proper
length. I would think that later 383 push rods would fit?

One thing to be aware of is that 1966 was the last year for the push
rods with the indented tip to fit that hydraulic lifter. If you get
newer style push rods, you may have to change over to the newer lifters.
