[Chrysler300] L Clock

300 Club member of the L persuasion,

I am seeking a clock for a 300L. I suspect that any 65 Chrysler
clock will fill the bill, so long as all the gear teeth are present.

I took the advice of fellow members Barber, Hill, Jones, and Warnaar
this morning. I had perfect light, and gentle solvents, and lots of
patience. When I was done the old clock just gleamed. I set the
winder and gave the balance wheel a nudge. It was perfect. It
ticked. It tocked. Never would hear it in the car, but in a quiet
room in the woods of Maine, it sounded like a small old clock should
sound. I measured the car clock against a modern clock. The car
clock--in the best 300 tradition--was going significantly faster. So
I followed Ray's instructions about setting the stem and works back
24 hours.

It was then I noticed that in that series of gears, there is one gear
missing several teeth. I don't see any that I can glue back on.

If anyone has a 65 clock that he would sell for not many US dollars,
I would be grateful.

Thanks for the fixit help, and in advance for any clocks you may offer.

Doug Mayer
