[Chrysler300] a/c freon

Hey Rob, Dan et. al.

I installed a new rotary compressor on my 56 Imperial with 134A; I have front and rear A/C like Rob in a single loop. It does not cool well. Also, I have had to install two ugly (plastic) cooling fans in front of the condensor, I am told, because the R134 requires additional cooling to operate properly.

Can I switch the freon in the new compressor to R-12 for improved cooling and also to remove the cooling fans? The original A/C on 56's did not have an auxiliary cooling fan and I would like to have that "look" and the extra cold air. Thoughts?

Thanks. Tom Cox
