Wacky as that sounds, my C-300 goes from full on the dip stick to one quart low very quick, then doesn't move at all after that. I have no leaks and can't see any blue smoke. I guess my question is, Was there any merit to what these old mechanics said or did they simply plant seeds in my 18 year old head. Thanks for your interest, John Peabody

I know it sounds funny But I have had the same thing happen with some
of my Mopars. My 69 Dodge Power Wagon with a 383 I bought new has a 7
gt. oil pan . It now has 247,000+ miles and it has stayed 1 qt. low
since new. It never leaked any oil when new , But sometime over the
last 47 years it has gradually developed some oil leaks. But still it
gets 1 qt low and stop's. Weird but true.
