As per usual, very informative responses to my questions. Now, did Chrysler?s dual quads come out before Cadillac?s in 1955? The batwing/delta wing aircleaners are similar and manufactured by the same supplier (Delco)? See, for the somewhat jazzier Cad version: http://tinyurl.com/2z7s9e Anyone ever see those big chrome spinners for the oil bath pots on a Chrysler? The data at that site indicated Cadillac got 270 HP from 331 cubes at 4800 RPM while Chrysler got 300 HP from 331 cubes at 5200 RPM. 11.1% more HP at 8.3% more RPM. We should all be glad Chrysler was willing to go with the full race cam and solid lifters to win that contest and start the horsepower race. However, Buick in '52 on the straight eight employed either the Stromberg or Carter four barrel on the Roadmasters. Olds got a 4bbl in '53. Thanks for the correction that only the '54 DELUXE New Yorkers had the Carter WCFB (William Carter Four Barrel!).
