Since the club news is a little late, here's some info about the Fall 
Meet so you can get started registering for BOTH the Hotel and the 
Club.

Hotel offers free room internet, Indoor pool with Rooftop Deck, 
Whirlpool and Sauna, Fitness Center, Business Center, Lobby/bar with 
light fare. Mahogany Bar & Grill with appetizers and beverages, usual 
restaurants nearby.

Schedule of Events
Wed. Sept. 26th     Check in all day. Registration and Goodie bags are 
in Room.  Car washing area will be set up.  Trunk Parts Selling 
encouraged throughout the meet.  Parking Lot and Hospitality Room 
socializing expected and required from Check-in til Check-out!
 
Thurs. Sept. 27th      Leave the lot at  9:30 a.m.  for a Route 66 
Museum Tour.  We will caravan north and work our way back to lunch in 
Springfield visiting several Route 66 Museums with Memorabilia and Car 
Collections.  We?ll stop also at some old Route 66 sites on this tour.  
Lunch will be at a famous Route 66 Eatery.   Other neat places may be 
visited after lunch.  Dinner on your own with great restaurants in the 
Hotel and surrounding area.
 
Fri. Sept. 28th      Concours judging at  9:30 a.m.  Those not involved 
in Concours can go into Springfield to visit the many museums honoring 
President Lincoln, including his famous Log Cabin.  A group rate is 
being arranged below.  We MUST have reservations in by August 31st
             9:45 a.m. Leave lot for the Lincoln Museum.  We are 
scheduled to enter at 10:30 a.m. with our prepaid tickets so we don?t 
have to stand in line.  See Registration Below.  Those who register 
late will have to stand in the ticket line and pay the standard rate.
             2:30 p.m.  Business meeting.  Please be on time!
             Afterwards - There is a parade in Springfield, much like 
Woodward Avenue.  Take your lawn chairs and watch all the cars go by!  
Free car entry.  (See note below)
 
Sat. Sept. 29th   Wander into Springfield for the Festival, parking in 
Municipal Garages available.  Expect 1000+ cars lined up on the closed 
off street with vendors of every type, selling everything and 
demonstrating all kinds of Auto Repair Equipment.  Food and Beer Wagons 
here and there.  Lots of stores for the Ladies shopping.
             6:00 p.m.  Banquet - Cocktails at 6 p.m., Dinner at 7 
p.m.   Awards and yak, yak, yak after dinner.
 
Sun. Sept 30th    Sad goods-byes and wander off to our dreary lives 
until the next Meet!

Directions to Holiday Inn Express - Crowne Plaza Hotel Complex
 
 From the South or North:
Use I-55 to exit 94 (Stevenson Drive).  Head West one block. 
Go North on Dirksen Parkway 1 ½ blocks to Hotel Complex on right.    
There is NO entrance in front of Holiday Inn.  Turn into driveway in  
front of Crowne Plaza.  Follow signs to the Holiday Inn Express.
 
 From the East or West:
Use I-72.  This will blend into I-55.  Exit 94, follow directions above.
 
Hotel supplies shuttle service to:
Springfield?s Capitol airport, AMTRAK, and the Greyhound Bus Station

Special Note:
The Festival features Cars and Trucks, Classic, Custom and Street-rods  
on display.  There is a Parade on Friday Evening.  You can participate  
free, take your car and enjoy!  I need to know so we can get y?all  
together.  A club rate of $25.00 for pre-registered cars to display on  
the street both Saturday and Sunday.  You don?t have to be present to  
win a trophy, so you can skip Sunday if you wish.  You can check it out
