Hi Mike, 

Only way to tell what's leaking is to get the car up on a lift; clean off
the bottom of the trans (including the area around the cables) with brake
cleaner to get rid of all excess, leaked-out fluid; refill trans to the
correct mark on the dipstick and watch to see what happens.  If the leak is
a slow one, adding UV dye to the fluid will help pinpoint the exact location
of the leak.  If the leak is a fast one, then it will be rather obvious
where it's coming from.  Sure, it COULD be the cable(s) but it could also be
something else...

I have 1 1964 300K with automatic trans on the floor shifter. The trans is
rebuilt and it is leaking. I do not think that the cables have been
replaced. Do you think this is my problem. The cables. Thanks for your help
