When I had the driveshaft converted on our 62 NY wagon they chopped off the front ball/trunion part and welded on a front piece which included a slide yoke. All modifications were done to the shaft and it bolted right up to the stock parking brake drum on the back of the transmission. Matt Allyn Exec. in Charge of Prod. What is involved in the conversion? I thought I read sometime ago on the listserver that the output shaft of the tranny has to be modified, i.e., provide a slide yoke. Tom, I don't know where you live, but the NAPA machine shop and a private shop. Erie's Drive line both do it. I also saw a add in one of my magazines that do it. I live near Auburn, CA. Most places get between $350 to $400 to do it.
