one of the reasons trailer tires separate is that the axles dont have differentials and when you cut the trailer too sharply the tires skid sideways. you can get away with it in the hayfield or on gravel but asphalt and concrete is unforgiving. i use half tread truck tire takeoffs on my hay trailers and usually dryrot gets them before anything else. if you want your tires to hold up better, avoid sharp turns especially when loaded. pat grant

I have a 24' Haulmark. I've blown many a tire on the road and had many
separate. The only tires that didn't separate were Maxim's. One blew and the
other just wore out. The worst tires were GoodYear's. I had 2 GoodYear's blow
within 10 miles of each other and as you can imagine, I didn't have 2 spare
tires (I do now). I've also used Carlisle tires that are carried by Discount
Auto and they have blown and separated.
I'm only using Carlisle tires now because of the Discount's tire guarantee.
If a tire fails, they will replace it free of charge and the only thing I
have to pay is for the guarantee on the new tire (about $10.00).
